The Dress: 001

Bias cut silk (crepe? charmeuse?) with illusion back (lace? french tulle?). Still theorizing bodice front. Butterflied sleeves.
It's reminiscent of my old ladybird design.

Lovely drawings. Your dress will be beautiful, I'm sure.

I found a link to your blog from Pattern Review - you reviewed B3311, after making a faux fur vest. So I followed the link to read about your experience with the pattern. I know it's been a couple of years, but I wonder if you have time to answer a question or two for me about that pattern - I'm "walking" the pattern preparatory to using it in my first faux fur experiment. If it's not too much to ask, will you email me?

My concern about the pattern is that it's described as "very loose fitting" yet when I measure the pattern at the bottom, is is about 7 inches smaller than the "finished width" published on the pattern envelope - I can hardly believe the discrepancy, so I keep going back to re-measure - that's a lot of ease to be missing! I noticed that you described the finished vest as "snug" at the bottom, and wondered if you had measured the pattern also? If I make the vest using this pattern, I think it will also be too snug for me.

Please excuse me if this off-topic question is an intrusion. Even if I don't hear from you, I'm glad to have discovered your blog.
